5 Things That Made Me Smile This Week

Taking Stock...

  1. Goldilocks's Mock Caesarean - One week ago today, Goldilocks had a funny if rather frightening revelation. Picking up a pretend knife from her toy kitchen, she turned to me and said "If I cut your belly open, I will be able to see the baby. I hope this doesn't hurt!" 0_0
  2. Little Bear's Secret Milestone - Little Bear has been getting much more confident with standing up lately. While he was leaning on Big Bear he very suddenly became engrossed in the TV (we still don't get why). Big Bear slowly moved away and left Little Bear standing completely unsupported for just over a minute until he came back to earth. Little Bear smiled, then realised we were watching him - very sharply lowering himself to a crawling position.
  3. Big Bear's Creamy Face - After working his night shift and working hard all day in the New House (tiling the bathroom this time I believe) he fell asleep on the chair around 7pm, same as usual! When it was time for me to wake him up because I was going to bed I decided to have a little fun with him and use squirty cream to do a smiley face on his belly to wake him up. It didn't work xD
  4. My 21st Birthday - Goldilocks tried her hardest to "share" birthdays with me, my dad sang me "Happy Birthday" over the phone, my mum made us tea and surprised me with an awesome helium balloon (which I stupidly forgot to take a picture of). Big Bear was very supportive, coming up to look after the kiddies so I could go to the doctors even though it meant very little sleep in between shifts for him - which meant I got kisses and cuddles from him too!
  5. Goldilocks's New Job - She now dreams of being a midwife when she grows up and has offered to help make me comfortable. She also has started using a toy stethoscope to listen to the baby's heartbeat and has tried to feel what position the baby is lying in. I haven't had the heart to tell her how gruesome childbirth is - ignorance is indeed bliss!
