5 Things That Made Me Smile This Week

Taking Stock...

  1. New Bathroom - On Wednesday I had yet another scan and actually got out first thing in the morning to do the school run and get on my way. In between the school run and going to the hospital, Big Bear and I popped for a brief visit to the New House and he showed me the progress he'd made. The best sight was definitely the upstairs bathroom - everything tiled and plumbed in just the way a bathroom should be! It was lovely to see and I can't wait to start using it!
  2. Disney Day - Today was Disney Day at school, Goldilocks got to go to school dressed as her favourite Disney character (currently Belle). While getting ready for school we sang songs from Beauty and the Beast and had a lovely time.
  3. Wobbly Teeth - Goldilocks came home from school Tuesday and announced that she had a wobbly tooth. I completely disbelieved her at first, I was sure that she's still too young at 5! My mum checked and yes, she definitely had a wobbly tooth. The most shocking thing about it was her adult tooth had already cut the gum and was just peeping out - along with the adjacent adult tooth! That's right - not one wobbly tooth but two wobbly teeth!
  4. Big Bear the Domestic Goddess - I was feeling pretty gruesome Thursday morning (and I still am now!) and walking about was pretty painful so I spent most of the morning resting and nagging Goldilocks to get dressed for school from the comfort of my own chair. Normally the flat would have been a state by midday because of this - but not when Big Bear is about! He tidied the living room, hoovered the living room, done the washing up and even made us bacon sarnies for breakfast! All this was done before he left at 8:45am to do the school run for me - what a man!
  5. New Laptop Savings - Thanks to a pretty handsy Little Bear who likes to touch anything that he isn't allowed the second you take your eyes off him, my trusty Acer Aspire 5315 that I've had for at least 3 years (possibly 4) is nearing the end of it's life. Looking for a new laptop took hours - after some over-the-phone encouragement from Big Bear and some looking around courtesy of my shopping lifeline (Google Shopping, I love you!) I find a laptop that's miles better than this one for £299, already a saving of £130 considering I had been about to buy a similar one on credit. I then used my shopping smarts that little bit more and found the supplier of my new laptop on Quidco. Bargain!
